    A QUICK GUIDE TO COMPLETING THE AIT-2 APPEAL FORM
    The deadline to appeal is 28 calendar days from the date you were served with the decision. The Visa Section or the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal in the UK, must receive your appeal by the end of this period. In accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal (Procedure) Rules 2005, you must not send your appeal to both locations.
    You should send your notice of decision with the Form AIT-2.
    Form AIT-2 must be completed in English. It is in your interest to complete this form as thoroughly as possible. A contact address in China must be written in English and Chinese characters; postal codes must be included.
    The appellant or your representative (if you have one) must sign form AIT-2 (Section 6). A Form AIT-2 submitted without a signature will be returned to you.
    All supporting documents submitted with a Form AIT-2 must be in English or accompanied by a translation into English and signed by a translator to certify that the translation is accurate.
    All supporting documents you have listed on Section 7 of the Form AIT-2 must be clear and legible copy.
    Use A4 size paper only for supporting documents.
    Do not use staples, however paper clips are acceptable.

    You can submit your appeal at the visa section you were refused at or can send your appeal to:

  • Complaints

    Please note that this procedure applies only to complaints about the process and does not include complaints about the decisions.

    If you have a general complaint or one related to Visa matters, you may complain directly to the Director Visa Services (China). This person will accept your complaint and pass it to the correct person for a response.

    You may complain as follows:

    What you should do:
    In all cases, please provide:
    • A clear name, address and telephone number
    • A clear description of your complaint
    • As much detail of names, dates, places etc as possible

    What we will do:
    • On receipt of your complaint we will send you a confirmation of receipt letter containing a reference number for your complaint.
    • In all cases we will take your complaint seriously and try and give you a full reply within 20 working days.
    • If we can not give you a full reply within the time, we shall tell you when we expect to do so and keep you up-to-date with progress.

    We do need to know from you if something goes wrong. Only then can we do something about it and improve the service we offer.
